My Blog Updates

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (Oxford World's Classics)
First, a novel update: I am currently reading The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte and I'm 1/3 through. I made a daily page requirement schedule to finish the book in two weeks, but I'm finding the story so interesting I'm three days ahead.

Second, I finally started doing something I've wanted to do for years. Take up shorthand. For two reasons: to write notes faster and so that no one can read my novel notes. Well, yesterday, I invented my own shorthand and it's great. It's an offshoot of 'Handywrite' and it works off sounds not letters. I have to practice getting faster now.

Third, to blog writers: I want to apologize if I miss your blog for the day. I follow so many now that I can only choose a few to read and comment on. But, I'll do my best. Here are some blogs just from this morning:
Living a Double Life: Finding Time To Write,

Fourth, I've decided to give Shakespeare a try. I remember in high school we would discuss the great bard and try and understand the meaning of his poetic words. Well, it drove me mad! How could anyone possibly know what the man meant? That's like someone taking one of my poems or stories and saying, 'I think she was discussing love...' Really? Was I? Well, perhaps... That rant aside, I found in my collection of books a small book of Shakespeare's Sonnets. I want to read it...slowly. So, Sunday will be Shakespeare's Sonnet Sunday. One sonnet a week.

Fifth, I've joined Friends of Thaw. I will promote her new on-line book in the coming months. Something I am thinking of doing with my latest book. Anyway, she has mentioned me on her website. Thank you, Fiona.

Now, I have to get back to editing.

The shorthand sounds kind of neat. :) It would probably confuse me trying to figure out how to do it, but I like your idea of having notes that others can't decipher.

I love reading Shakespeare. I have a nice volume of his work displayed on my bookshelf and try to read one of his plays every month or so.

I'm fixing to go add you to my blogroll. :)

Ali, glad you enjoy it. Looking forward to getting to know you too.

Tina, I think Shakespeare SUnday will be a way for me to try new things.

Hope it works out.

I just added some Shakespeare to my Goodreads list! (Before I saw this.)

Love your Shakespeare Sunday idea. :)

Blogging is indeed a time-eater. I'm trying to find a way to juggle everything I've taken up in the last few weeks. I need a schedule!

Thanks for linking me. ;)

Corra, I agree! I think I spend far too much time blog and reading blogs and commenting on other blogs and reading their comments on my comments... yikes. No wonder my house is falling apart.

Elizabeth's suggestion to divide blogs I follow on the Google Reader into days is helping...

Corra, that's a great idea. I will look into it immediately.
